“Do or do not. There is no try.” When I saw the prompt this morning, this quote from the ever wise Yoda was all that my brain could put words too. Just now, as I message with dear friends about an organizational practice group, I had an understanding of what Yoda meant and why it popped into my head. If you want to be organized, the only way is organize. If you have a dream, the only way to make it happen is to work towards it.
Dreaming big is another favorite quote or saying that I keep close at hand. It is a beautiful sentiment but practically speaking it doesn’t get the dream done. I have all sorts of dreams, big, huge ones and tiny ones. They all need me to get on them and work towards them consistently. Working without a dream or working at the expense of my family is not a choice. Not working towards them at all is also not a choice if I intend to see them happen.
Consider this my attempt at one of those dreams. As I type I remember typing very similar words not in too distant past. Reminds me that I have a lot of the same issues pop back into my life. The choice is either to give up and stop trying or to keep trying no matter how many times I fail. Knowing that trying and doing is much more effective than just thinking about trying.
