Day 4 – Grateful – The Way God Works
This is my third attempt at writing what I am grateful for today. When God originally gave me this idea, I wrote an outline for what I would write about each day. I haven’t used it yet. Turns out, God is teaching me something every day and through that showing me what to write. Today, among other things, I am grateful for the way God works. To be honest, half the time I don’t even realize God is working until I have time to sit and reflect. He can work in any way, through any circumstance, and at any time.
The day that I filled out an application for a book launch team, I could never have even come close to guessing what incredible blessings would come my way because of it. It is still hard to understand today – three and a half years later. 5000 women applied to be a part of the launch team, 500 got selected. Almost two thousand of those “rejected” 4500 came together to form a Facebook group. It would take an entire book to describe the ways that God has worked through and in that group. Meetups, retreats, conferences, more books, lifetime friendships, people who have never met supporting each other in prayer, financially, and in any other manner we can come up with together. It has changed the course of my entire life and I am grateful for that group every single day.
Somehow, though we were both in #the4500, the founder of The Loved Bible Project and I had never connected. A different author put together a Facebook group and asked for people to join who wanted to help contribute to her next book. In that group, I saw mention The Loved Bible Project and immediately began trying to communicate with Anne Marie (or harassed her – one of those two.) Two years later, The Loved Bible Project has spread all over the country and being involved in it has brought me extensive joy.
Today, a new Christian reached out to learn about Loved Bibles. Several people began communicating and now we have the blessing of blessing her by teaching her about the Bible and about how to love one for someone else. My dream of all dreams is to help women learn more about their God and how to study His word, and today I got the privilege of starting that process with someone who is just as excited as I am to get started.
Some days it is hard to see how God could possibly working in a situation, everything about it seems hard and hurtful. Some days are so busy and filled that we don’t even have time to think about where God might be at work. Thankfully, His Word promises that He is always at work and we can rest in that truth.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
