When the box, and all its contents, crashed to the ground, I didn’t even turn to see what happened. Grow Stronger
Today was hard, from the very beginning until I had the time to rest, refresh and spend time in God’s Word. God chose to use words spoken to me by a friend to set me up for what He knew I would read later. Today, I am thankful for His Word – whether spoken by a friend or read – or both. I love words. Laughter
The mood in the room was at best, tense. Everyone was tired, hot, and frustrated. There were too many bodies in too small a space which meant that every move affected someone else. As the leader in the room, I was frustrated that I couldn’t seem to move the crowd past the little things that had added up to be big things. I stood up to try one more time to gain control. Redeemed
Every day in November, I have my students make a list of people, items, place, and events for which they are thankful. It is one of my favorite parts of this season. Today I ask my second graders to take it one step closer and tell me why they were thankful for at least two of the four items they listed. One of my girls wrote that she was thankful for her home. She Really Needs Prayer
"Can we pray for her? Because I think she really needs some prayer." Youth group was ending and we were dismissing the students. I had been rather honest about my struggles with anger and frustration. Apparently it was clear enough that one of our youth thought I needed prayer. And I did. I still do.
